    Interleaving permutes the data bits by employing a user defined sequence to reduce burst error which at times exceeds the minimum hamming distance. It serves as the sole medium to distinguish user data in the overlapping channel and is the heart of Interleave Division Multiple Access (IDMA) scheme. Versatility of interleavers relies on various design parameters such as orthogonality, correlation, latency and performance parameters like bit error rate (BER), memory occupancy and computation complexity. In this paper, a comprehensive study of interleaving phenomenon and discussion on numerous interleavers is presented. Also, the BER performance of interleavers using IDMA scheme is displayed

    Intellectual Property Right on Basmati Rice: Current Scenario and Evidences of Origin, Diversity, Cultivation and Use Values of Basmati Rice in Nepal

    Basmati rice, also called the king/prince of rice landraces has very special values in Nepalese society as well as in other countries of Indian Subcontinent. With the objectives of collecting, analyzing and documenting Basmati related information in Nepal, we visited different sites; carried out key informant surveys; organized focus group discussions, online interaction and discussion meetings; requested all relevant offices/ persons/ stakeholders through phone, website, and letter to share information; organized high level official meeting, and Basmati rice expert meeting; documented video documentary and did online as well as library search. Because of its high market value at global level, many countries and organizations have been attempting to get intellectual property rights (mainly patent and geographical indication tag) on Basmati rice. India applied for GI tag to Basmati rice in the European Union (EU) in July 2018, and Nepal submitted opposition letter along with proofs and evidences of origin, diversity, cultivation and use values of Basmati rice on 9 December 2020. A total 133 Basmati type rice landraces are grown in 60 districts of Nepal. Basmati rice is traditionally grown, sold, and consumed in geographically localized areas of Nepal since ancient time. International and national scientists have defined lower altitude of Nepal as one of the centers of origin of Basmati rice. Many Nepalese basmati rice landraces have been characterized and evaluated using morphological traits, isozymes and DNA markers. Four basmati type of rice landraces have been registered in National Seed Board. Many community seed banks have maintained different types of Basmati rice landraces. National Agriculture Genetic Resources Center and International genebanks have collected more than 80 and conserved 68 basmati landraces. Basmati rice landraces have geo-linked traits. The historical culture of production, consumption and marketing of native basmati rice in Nepal should always be favored by both national and international rules and regulations.     A rare case of giant soft tissue chondroma of the wrist: A cytopathological study with review of the literature

    Giant soft tissue chondromas (STCs) of the wrist are seldom encountered in clinical practice. Precise diagnosis of benign STC may pose diagnostic difficulties on clinical and radiological findings alone. We encountered a slowly growing soft tissue neoplasm in the radial aspect of the wrist joint of the right hand in a 52-year-old male, masquerading as a calcified hematoma, as suggested by magnetic resonance imaging. On cytohistopathological examination, it turned out to be a rare giant STC. The variable cellularity, in conjunction with cellular immaturity and atypia, could mislead one to a malignant pathological interpretation. Diagnosis is based on both radiological and cytohistological evaluation, which is indispensable for determining the tumor type. The detailed clinical, radiological, cytomorphological, and immune-histopathological study was carried out, which has prompted us to report this case along with a review of the literature

    A rare case of renal metastasis from squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix

    Cervical cancer is the most frequent type of cancer in women in many developing countries. Squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix spreads principally by lymphatics and less commonly through blood vessels. The most frequent sites for those who develop distant metastasis include lungs (21%), lumbar and thoracic spine (16%), and para-aortic lymph nodes (7%). Metastasis to the kidney is extremely rare with <10 previously reported cases. We report a case of renal metastasis from squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix detected in end-stage kidney due to hydronephrosis

    A 26-year-old female patient presented with multiple, smooth, round to oval, well-defined, and skin-colored nodules, without central punctum, over both axillae since past 5 years. Few nodules were observed on chest, right upper arm, and left upper thigh. No other ectodermal abnormalities were observed in the patient. There was no family history of similar lesions. A clinical diagnosis of multiple neurofibromas was made, and largest of the lesion was excised. Histopathological examination showed features of steatocystoma multiplex. Steatocystoma multiplex is an extremely rare cystic disorder of pilosebaceous units. Although previously regarded as an inherited autosomal dominant disorder, sporadic cases have been reported

    A rare case of multicentric secretory carcinoma of breast in an adult female with review of literature

    Secretory breast carcinomas (SBCs) are considered one of the rarest types of BCs accounting for <0.15% of all breast cancers. The lesions are typically solitary, but rare multicentric cases have been reported. SBC have characteristic histopathological, immunohistochemical, and electron microscopic findings. Children and adolescents with SBC have a favorable prognosis, but disease seems slightly more aggressive in adults. The characteristic ETV6-NTRK3 molecular alteration, leading to a stable chimeric tyrosine kinase fusion product, may be the target of promising new treatment for this unique BC.     Gonadoblastomas (GBYs) are rare gonadal tumors almost always arising from a dysgenetic gonad with a Y chromosome. Very rarely, GBYs appear in otherwise normal women with a history of pregnancy. The typical histological appearance of GBY can be altered by extensive deposition of basement membrane material, calcification, or overgrowth by a malignant tumor. Less than 10 cases have been reported with normal 46XX karyotype. Only six cases of GBY have been described in pregnant women. We present a unique case of GBY with dysgerminoma in a genotypically and phenotypically normal woman with a history of normal pregnancy, absence of virilization, and characteristic immunohistomorphological features
